Acharya Shunya is one of the extraordinary teachers of the living, embodied wisdom of Ayurveda, Yoga and Vedanta. A rarity today, Shunya was born into an uninterrupted spiritual lineage dating back thousands of years in the holy city of Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India, where she spent 14 years studying Vedic scriptures and the sciences of Ayurveda, Yoga and Vedanta with her Guru Baba Ayodhya Nath—a renowned Vedic Guru and perfected Yogi of his time. Shunya is the driving force behind Vedika Global, a wisdom school dedicated to awakening health and consciousness in northern California.

Shunya has received prestigious awards both in the United States and India, including for Distinguished Service by the California Institute of Integral Medicine (CIIS) and for Excellence in Education by the Association of Ayurveda Professionals of North America (AAPNA). She is also President of the California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine (CAAM) and Chair and Advisor to several noteworthy national and international Vedic organizations, including to the Government of India on international Ayurveda affairs. In 2015, she was featured in Spirituality & Health magazine as one of the Top 100 Trailblazers in Yoga and Ayurveda. Shunya is a sought-after speaker, delivering keynote addresses to audiences that include the World Ayurveda Congress; National Ayurvedic Medical Association; University of California, Berkeley; and Stanford University. This year, she was invited to represent Ayurveda in the U.S. by India’s Ministry of AYUSH (Health) and Overseas Affairs. Shunya lives in Northern California with her husband and son, beloved animals, plants, and global student community.
