Re-Write Your Relationship To Stress
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

Instead of managing our relationship to our thoughts, we attempt to manage what’s happening around us. When uncomfortable situations surface in life, our automatic tendency is to back away towards comfort. Yoga, when practiced properly, actually uses discomfort to reveal where we are blocked and teaches us to relax even while feeling uncomfortable. Gradually, we loosen the grip of resistance and widen our capacity to remain integrated in other situations. In this workshop, we will use yoga-based techniques to skillfully approach intensity and practice re-writing our relationships to the circumstances we otherwise waste our energy attempting to control or avoid. This session is open to yoga enthusiasts of all experience levels. The Posture of Consciousness is a unique blend of Hatha and Raja Yoga. The session is a combination of correct understanding and direct experience.

Tech Neck
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

Long hours spent at a computer create a forward-pitched head posture resulting in neck & shoulder tension. Carrying around children, driving, and stress from every day activities can also slowly whittle away at our uprightness creating a head-forward, slump-shouldered and collapsed chest posture often resulting in neck, arm and upper back pain (what Tias Little calls "schlump-asana"). The focus in this workshop will be on releasing tension in the neck, upper shoulders, and jaw and creating greater freedom of movement in those areas. Reducing cranial pressure may also result in relief from common complaints such as migraines, insomnia, eye strain, and bruxism. The shoulders are so closely tied to the neck that when there is shoulder strain it often comes with neck pain. In this workshop, we'll explore gentle flowing movements (the SATYA work developed by Tias Little) as a way of releasing holding patterns in the neck and shoulders and hydrating these areas with an increased flow of blood & prana, both vital in maintaining the health and longevity of the shoulders, cervical spine, and their surrounding structures. Parameters for participation include: the ability to get up and down off the floor without assistance, freedom from medical devices, and no acute spinal disc or nerve compression. No prior yoga experience is necessary.

Chakra Perceptions- Radical Awareness of the Subtle Body
Limited Capacity seats available

You may have heard something about it, you may know nothing about it, nonetheless the health of your chakra system does effect you. Chakra means Wheel. The ancient Yogis and modern Clairvoyants who can see this energy all describe it as spinning vortices of energy that are located at certain points around the body. Most of the chakras in our energetic body correspond to main nerve centers, however, there are many more besides the simple 7 you may have heard about before. All life bodies have energetic centers- cats, dogs, horses and the Planet Earth. The power of the Chakra system then lies in much more than our simple connection to breath and our feelings. It lies to the very center of Life and connection to the Creative Source. For this connection is what causes us to be the creative energetic beings that we are. We have a Light Body made of these centers that connects to our our nerve and organ centers in the physical body, but we also have points that correspond to the Greater Energy of all life that allows us to envision and manifest on this planet. Without the chakra connection, we manifest mere base survival, and our higher forms of thought and creativity languish. Truly, as we are Spirit in a Human existence, then this connection to the Creative Force is what also causes us to be an integral part of this Source. We have Human Life Suits, if you will, that allow us to interface on the particular dimension and frequency that is Earth. It is a specific function that this body performs on this plane and it is unique in many ways. We get to sense in a tactile way the feelings and emotions of the world around us. Hence, the more clear we are in our energetic system, the more acute our own perceptions become and the more psychic we appear to be. It is not that we are ever not psychic, it is that we are frequently attuned to a lower vibration of perception that masks our awarenesses under the weight of fears and concerns, which in turn dulls our perceptions to the point of near invisibility.

The human foot is a masterpiece of engineering and a work of art. -Leonardo da Vinci When you treat foot problems with yoga, you end up treating knee pain, back pain, hip pain, and all kinds of structural problems. We place our feet into tight (albeit cute) shoes, walk around on concrete all day, and generally ignore them unless they begin to hurt. 25% of the bones in our body are in our feet. 25% of the muscles in our body are in, or connect to, our feet. When the muscles in our feet become weak, they affect the structure of the bones, causing the arches to collapse. Fallen arches can result in tendonitis, plantar fasciatis and contribute to the development of bunions, shin splints, and pain in the knees and hips. They can even affect the lower back, neck, and shoulders. In this workshop we will aim to open the plantar fascia and strengthen the muscles in the feet and lower legs, resulting in both a greater range of motion and sense of balance. Our feet are a gateway into the entire body – the organs, spine, breath, and even chakras! Maintaining the health of our feet with regular care, can literally put an extra spring in your step - physically, energetically, and emotionally!

The Role of Restoration Yoga as a Healing Practice
Limited Capacity seats available

Restorative Yoga may seem to be intimidating at first. How to place the supports, the blocks, the straps.....? Relax- this is the key word in restoration, Relaxation. In this session, learn what makes this practice more than just relaxing, but a true state of Surrender. Most people spend a great deal of the waking, conscious day (and truthfully, their slumbering unconscious night!) in dealing with stress. For many folks, the very act of lying back and being still is even in itself a massive shift in allowing. Minds are busy filling in the gaps of what I woulda, coulda, shoulda have done. Or endlessly loop around the what I must do next. This process creates a mental crazy train that is deftly crippling otherwise normal, healthy people. Teaching them what slowing down even means, is a challenge! Add to this, the amount of toll that is placed upon the human body through overindulgences- whether this be too much sitting at a computer, or too much spinning in the gym. Our bodies find healing in the place between such states. The beauty of Restoration yoga, is that even people with no prior yoga experience, or who are in recovery from addictions and trauma, can find deep psychological support and healing in profound ways. In fact, the vulnerability that can be exposed and then lovingly supported is beautiful. Come experience for yourself why this gentle practice is so dearly needed in a time of accelerated change.

Deep Relax
Limited Capacity filling up

Taught by Danielle and created by Sri Dharma Mittra, our guided restorative session to help you break free from the stress of the noisy and restless world that maintains its presence in our bodies and minds at all times. This practice will allow you to take the time to let all the cells of your physical body, joints and organs de-stress and begin to find balance. This result occurs on an unconscious level as your bodily systems become healthy, balanced and refreshed. You will then be ready to sit quietly for the final minutes in the practice of contemplative meditation, to bring your awareness even further within and guide you toward the Real Self deep in your heart. From this place, it will be easy for you to acknowledge, see and feel the unity in the diversity, the sameness of all. You will slowly realize all is within and we are all one as Sri Dharma often says. Each session includes different special practices and lectures. Danielle has studied 1800 hours with Sri Dharma and is a registered 800 hour teacher with his school.

Awaken Your Healing Voice
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

So many of us have stories about our voices. Some of us shut down our voices in response to the unkind or thoughtless words of a teacher or parent. Some of us learned to keep our feelings hidden because it wasn't safe to express them. Some of us have been struggling for years with chronic pain; unresolved emotional trauma; literally locking up our bodies with disease, discomfort, depression or more. Did you know your voice is one of the most powerful medicines available to you? Did you know that the very sound of your voice can help heal the deepest trauma and release the most stubborn blocks and emotional scars? Did you know that the sound of your own, uniquely beautiful voice can be a healing balm for yourself and others — and open a doorway to your soul? In this two hour hands-on experiential workshop, you will begin to identify and break through some of the limiting beliefs about yourself and your voice that have kept you from authentically expressing yourself with passion, authenticity and joy. Together, we will learn some simple, easy healing sound practices that will help you open to the beauty and power of your own healing voice.

The Psoas muscles are often referred to as "the muscle of the soul." When the psoas and tight hip flexor muscles becomes contracted due to injuries, poor posture, prolonged sitting, or stress, it can alter the biomechanics of the pelvis and the lumbar, thoracic and even cervical vertebrae. Until these muscles are released the muscles may stay contracted and go into further shortening and spasm very easily. You will experience a feeling of relaxation in your hips and back as you practice and end with a relaxing yoga nidra.

This is the gift of Partner & Acro Yoga: they cannot be practiced alone. You need to find partners, engage them and learn together. At a time when yoga can easily become an individualized quest, Partner & Acro Yoga are a timely opportunity to get off the rectangular mat and share the more circular, spiraling, tribal space of re-inventing together new body choreographies, new games and new ways of community spirit. Families, spouses, partners and friends all discover new and exciting ways of mutual understanding and communication. Partner and Acro Yogas are non-verbal experiences that bypass the mind and re-awaken deep levels of body & emotional intelligence. If you listen attentively, you will find many opportunities to give & receive, to experience the balance of gravity & levity, to feel physical strength and yet develop extreme sensibility. A world-wide movement with several schools, Acro Yoga and a variety of other partner yogas can now be seen practiced in many public parks. The Guru Within: Developing a Home Practice
Limited Capacity seats available

The sanskrit word Guru translates to dispeller of darkness and is used to refer to someone we view as a guide or teacher. In the yoga tradition the greatest guru of all, is the one dwelling within ourselves. The ability to listen to our bodies, uncover our inner wisdom, and hear our own intuition are the benefits of unlocking the teacher within. While it may be intimidating to attempt a practice without the guidance of an instructor, it is a necessary step in the transition from taking yoga classes to living a yoga lifestyle. Through the discipline of a personal home practice and dedication to yogic living, we gain access to experiencing harmony and balance within our everyday lives. In this session, Ash will introduce the foundations for exploring a regular home yoga practice through personal inquiry. Discussion will also include the philosophical disciplines of yoga and tools for living your yoga off the mat. Please bring a journal or notepad. Participants will receive an interactive handout that will assist in mapping out a practice plan and bring to light areas of focus unique to each individual.

Understanding The Philosophy of Vedic Wisdom
Limited Capacity seats available

There is a great misconception among many people inhabiting this planet of I, me, and mine, that have produced a chaotic world that is destroying itself. The Vedic concepts of higher consciousness, the understanding of simple living and high thinking, can produce better harmony and stewardship of mother earth. This is applicable to all people who are on different levels of understanding, of how to attain a higher satisfaction and experience of the self within. Vedic wisdom is coming from a platform of absolute truth without mental speculation, and is used by all transcendentalists of India in their journey of self realization and the empowerment of freedom from the anxieties of a complex world of exploitation. We will present some ideas from such literature as the Bhagavad-gita, Maha-Bharata, Upanisads, and Bhagavat Purana, in both history and practical application.

Pathway to padmasana - the journey to the ultimate yoga pose
Limited Capacity seats available

Padmasana (lotus pose) is every yoga practitioner’s dream. Ancient yogis consider this to be the ultimate seat for gaining wisdom and reaching the pinnacle of self realization. It is the pursuit of this pose, that lead many ancient yogi’s to develop a deeper asana practice. While Padmasana appears to be non- challenging in its appearance. This pose is subtle, but when done correctly can bring about a sense of lightness in the whole body and turn the mind inwards. Having been born and raised in India till recently, Arundhati could always do Padmasana easily. But many of her students struggled with the simplest knee folding poses in the West. This lead her to develop the ‘pathway to padmasana’ workshop. Join us to discover a unique, fun, effective yoga sequence to build up to a lifelong safe practice of the ultimate lotus pose. Workshop will include the fundamental poses to open muscles around the hips, legs, groins, back and more. Participants will receive a digital sequence of the practice with modifications and benefits. Custom modifications for your body will be offered. Come, discover the ultimate yogic seat.

Calling on the wisdom of our cacao spirit friends, we open our hearts to an experience of ecstatic liberation. With the purest cacao sourced from Guatamala, we connect with this sacred plant to awaken our inner heart’s intelligence. As we feel the tingling magic of cacao and our tribe, we connect our hearts through powerful tribal movements that awaken our power centers, stoking our inner fire to rise into pure creative bliss. Core and Stretch for Back Health
Limited Capacity seats available

A strong core stabilizes the spine and provides support for posture and movement. The spine also is the epicenter for mobility and the vertebrae are designed to move like "pearls on a string". Balancing these two forces is the source of back health as well as the challenge in creating a healthy back practice. In this practice we will explore movement to connect to your core. A flowing sequence of yoga poses will help to unlock the spine and correct muscular imbalances for a pain free back.

The Spirit of Vedic Thai Yoga Bodywork
Limited Capacity seats available

Learn the ancient Healing Art of Thailand to take care of your partner or friend with intentional, loving and nurturing touch. Vedic Thai Yoga Bodywork, like Yoga, balances and enhances on all levels, physical, emotional and mental, allowing the body's intelligence to respond and inspire healing itself. You'll watch demonstrations and practice giving and receiving with a partner. You do not have to be a professional to participate and learn. The only prerequisites are the willingness to give and receive. You will learn: - How to apply a basic sequence of elegant and transforming Thai-Yoga Bodywork asanas and techniques, including transitions. - How to use breath, meditation, mantra, bandha, and yogic techniques to enhance the quality of the session. - To harmonize Shakti/Chi to balance mental energy, enhance the immune system, and stimulate higher consciousness. While we do compress, stretch and manipulate particular muscles and other parts of the physical body, our focused intention is the underlying, unseen energetic body. Being under the hood so to speak, this energetic component is running the entire system which is directly connected to our conscious awareness as humans. This is where real transformative therapy takes place. Join David and Leah for your next step of healing by learning to give to another and receive joyfully! Vedic Thai Massage (Nuad Borarn) or Assisted Yoga is viewed as a martial art of healing and is reported to manifest instant positive results. In Thailand, bodywork is utilized medicinally as a cherished and revered indulgence to remedy the prominent social ailments such as emotional stress and physical inertia. Vedic Thai Massage is Love! It is a sacred offering, a conscious contribution to self-realization and soul revelation, the goal and purpose of life. Deliberate and skillful intentions of joyful communication, Thai Yoga massage produces profound pleasure and inspiring tranquility both physically and psychologically by replacing old restricted energy patterns within the body/spirit. This dignified and communally cherished art parallels in sophistication results obtained by other modern medical options. Why Vedic? Sri Dhanvantari appears in the Vedas as the father of all healing, carrying healing nectar. Sri Dhanvantari is an incarnation of the preserver energy, Vishnu. The Su Darshana Chakra, the disc you see on our materials, is Vishnu's protective discus, symbolizing peace, protection, and prosperity. The Ancient Vedic culture of Asia was the progenitor of modern-day India and Thailand, which is why we honor Sri Dhanvantari as the original source of Thai Yoga Bodywork. - Mukti Michael Buck, founder of Vedic Conservatory

Business Basics for Yoga Teachers
Limited Capacity seats available

Many yoga entrepreneurs and professionals excel at what they do: create opportunities for students to improve their health and well-being. But, many times, it ends there. They have no idea about how to establish the foundation of their business, as well as, how to take it out into public. The goal of this workshop is to give the attendees enough information so that they can take their unique gifts out into the world to improve the lives of others. And in doing so, they can realize their own personal and financial well-being. Material covered will include the basics of business; business plan, finances, marketing, websites, print materials, social media and organization.
