Women are tied so intimately to the Mother Moon and her phases. Through awareness, we can begin to see that the phases of the moon have great impact on our lives. This will be part of a topic for discussion to be followed by a lovely flowing practice to honor the moon. Even though Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar) have been around for a long time, the Moon Salutations (Chandra Namaskar) are relatively new to the yoga world, about 1960s. While Sun Salutations trigger fire and passion, the Moon Salutations help to cool the body and replenish energy. In this class, several popular versions will be explored as well as some gentle dance movements, to be followed by a Moon Meditation.
